Students taking this course will undertake a detailed investigation of a successful business and the external environmental conditions in which it operates. Students will develop a proposal to improve the existing product and/or service for the subject company. The proposal will contain a development plan for the company board to consider, based on detailed information research and analysis.

This unit will help to develop skills of problem definition, problem solving, information searching, researching and analysis. Enrolled students will be required to present their findings in a business report (not essay) and justify their decisions based upon the evidence assessed.

The unit is delivered as a series of lectures and skills workshops. Assessment is by assignments that have to be completed, week by week, by putting into practice the taught elements of the unit.
