Students "Venture Out" in 2015 enterprise competition

The Great Hall played host to this year’s Venture Out competition, which saw students from twelves schools across the University pitch innovative ideas in the hope of winning a cash prize of up to £500 in their category.

There were four categories in this year’s competition - business, social, digital and research, as well as the Innovation Challenge, offered by the competition’s sponsor, PZ Cussons.

The Innovation Challenge presented finalists with the opportunity to pitch their ideas to a live judging panel, which included representatives from sponsor PZ Cussons.

All current undergraduate, postgraduate and research students across The University of Manchester were encouraged to enter, either as individuals or in teams of up to six members.

Dr Martin Henery, Venture Competitions Director at Manchester Enterprise Centre, said: “The quality of entries to this year’s competition has again increased and we have received an incredible mix of ideas. Our criteria is always simple, we want brilliant ideas across a range of categories, and once again, our students have exceeded our expectations.
