Annual Enterprise Futures Event - Friday 13th May 2016

Running for the Fifth Year in 2016, Enterprise Futures is one of the leading events for student entrepreneurs in the U.K.  Jointly run by University of Manchester, University of Salford and Manchester Metropolitan University it is aimed principally aimed at postgraduate students and staff who are interested in exploring entrepreneurship. Previous participants have found the event useful whether they already had a business, were looking to start a business or were simply interested in finding out more about entrepreneurship.

Previously held at iconic Manchester venues such as Media City U.K., The Museum of Science and Industry and Manchester Town Hall, it was opened previously by the Lord Mayor and has received a letter of support from Vince Cable MP, formerly the Secretary of State for Business. This year the event will be held at UKFast, Birley Fields, Manchester (less than 2km from the University of Manchester) on Friday 13th May, 2016 from 9.30-16.00. UKFast have generously agreed to provide sponsorship and founder Lawrence Jones will be one of the keynote speakers.

Chaired again by Alistair MacDonald (AMTV and former BBC TV newsreader), the event will consist of keynote inspirational speakers, a Q&A panel of student entrepreneurs from all three universities and parallel sessions with experts covering topics including social media, public relations and personal branding where you will be able to pick and choose which sessions are of interest. There will also be an opportunity to use an extensive database of sources of funding (run by Dr Robert Phillips)and advice will be available from an intellectual property lawyer (Durham Grigg). As well as UKFast founder Lawrence Jones, Hayley Barnard (MIX Diversity Developers Ltd) will also be a keynote speaker.

The will also be an (optional) “Pitching Your Business” competition to a panel of judges for prizes – previous winners of this competition have gone on to set up successful companies.
