Ideas Factory #7 - Rachel Evatt, Product Director at Skyscanner

Monday, 26 November 2012

Time: 12.30 - 1.30pm

Venue: Alumni Club Room (within the Cafe Bar), Ground floor, MBS West

Entrepreneur Rachel Evatt is our guest speaker at the final Ideas Factory of this series.

Rachel is the Product Director at Skyscanner, a leading global travel site providing instant online comparisons for millions of flights on over a thousand airlines, as well as car hire and hotels. Skyscanner is currently used more than 30 million times a month via the website and mobile apps in tens of countries worldwide.

Bio

Before joining Skyscanner, Rachel co-founded the start-up company Zoombu in 2008, which focussed on helping people find the cheapest, fastest or greenest way to reach a destination.  Zoombu was acquired by Skyscanner in December 2010 when Skyscanner was half the current size in terms of employees and revenue.

Rachel has a first class degree in Engineering science from Oxford University and worked as a Venture Capital Analyst then as a Management Consultant, working within large multi-national organisations, before leaving to become more hands on and found her own company. She has seen companies at many stages of growth and will talk about her experiences founding Zoombu, transitioning to Skyscanner, and building great products.
