Manchester Science Partnerships shows commitment to local enterprise through Venture Further

Manchester Science Partnerships, has just announced its sponsorship of Manchester Enterprise Centre’s annual business start-up competition, Venture Further. Ann Dornan, head of innovation and partnerships at Manchester Science Partnerships (MSP) tell us why they continue to support growing local enterprise and innovation within Manchester.

MSP was established to help transform great ideas in science and technology into commercial reality and to grow Manchester’s knowledge economy. As the UK’s largest science and technology park operator, we are home to a wide range of innovative companies across the life science, advanced materials and digital technology sectors. As a partnership business, we believe that the best results come about when people collaborate effectively and ideas flow freely across sectors and disciplines.

In this spirit, we are proud to be a long-term supporter of Venture Further, which showcases the creativity and entrepreneurial talent within the Manchester student community. Our support underlines our commitment to supporting local enterprise and talent and our shared ambition to make Manchester an internationally-recognised city for enterprise and innovation.

Our support for Venture Further extends beyond the competition itself. MSP provides workspace and specialist business support for science and technology companies at every stage of their growth, and in our Greenheys Incubator we provide free space and support to the Manchester Entrepreneurs Society and its AccelerateME programme.

Working in partnership with our shareholders - the University of Manchester - and through initiatives such as Venture Further with the Manchester Enterprise Centre, we hope to give students the best possible chance of making their ideas a commercial reality.

Previous Venture Further participants and alumni of the University of Manchester have gone on to use the services and workspaces at MSP.
