Sponsors announced for Venture Further 2016

CMS Payments Intelligence, Waters and Manchester Science Partnerships have been confirmed as the sponsors for Manchester Enterprise Centre’s annual business startup competition, Venture Further.

Venture Further invites all students from across the University of Manchester, as well as recent graduates, to submit their business proposal to an expert judging panel of enterprise and business professionals in both the academic and private sector.

The competition allows for individuals or groups to receive expert feedback on their business ideas and gives them an opportunity to win cash to get their idea off the ground.

Lynn Sheppard, Director of Manchester Enterprise Centre said: “We are delighted to announce the sponsors of Venture Further for 2016. By showing their support they reinforce the value of student enterprise. The competition allows students to truly embrace entrepreneurship. We thank them for their support.”

Martin Henery, Competition Director for Venture Further, added: “The competition is a great opportunity for students across the university who are serious about starting a business.

“Winners have gone on to launch many successful ventures in the past and it is great to see students enter every year with strong, innovative business ideas.”

Last year, eight businesses were awarded seed funding for spotting real opportunities and they had both the passion and a plan to take their ideas to the next level.
